**Stephanie will be available for adoption at Rosedale Mills in Pennington, NJ over the May 19-21 weekend**

Poor Stephanie apparently had a rough start to life. While with her former owner Stephanie was forced to live outdoors in small exercise kennel, given very little human contact and became pregnant. By the time we met Stephanie, she was so badly matted that we couldn’t tell what breed she was or even see her face. It took two sessions with our groomer just to remove all of the matted fur from her body, some of it had actually embedded itself around her ankles so badly that it affected Stephanie’s ability to walk normally. The only good thing that came from the matted fur is it apparently protected her from mosquito bites and becoming infected with heart worms. Because of her isolation and lack of human contact, Stephanie became withdrawn and very apprehensive of people.

Once her grooming was taken care of and she was given a nice, safe place to stay, Stephanie quickly exhibited her true self: a very friendly, loving and appreciative little dog. She simply loves getting petted almost as much as she does sitting in your lap. While she loves to play, she is also a very calm and gentle little lap dog who also loves to give kisses. She does get along great with other dogs and even seems a little attached to her daughter (Clair) but she should do well if she had to separated from Clair.

Stephanie was now been fully vetted, had all of her vaccines updated and tested negative for heart worms. She’s also been kept on all of her monthly preventatives and now appears to be very healthy. To see the transformation from a scared, uncertain dog to this very happy, smiling girl has been a most enjoyable journey.
