Other Pictures of Beau (click to see larger version):***Beau is currently being fostered in the Pennington, NJ area. *** Beau's journey to finding his forever home has been a long, hard and sometimes painful experience. But this fellow has remained friendly and hopeful of finding a better life . Beau is a sweet, playful, energetic fellow. He is friendly to all, loves other dogs and is good with cats. He is house trained and does not chew anything but his toys. He likes to go for walks and drives, visit the dog park and cuddle on the couch. He can be excitable, jumping and doing his happy dance when he sees his leash and he can be chill, happy sitting on the couch watching TV. Beau would be a good watchdog: he barks when people first come into the house. He follows direction and quickly makes friends with whoever walks in the door. Beau still thinks he is a pup. He is still learning some manners and how to interact with toys. He loves to play tug and often growls playfully, he means no harm. He can be “mouthy” but has not shown any signs of aggression. Eager to learn and motivated by treats, Beau will be trainable when someone offers him love and patience. Beau was briefly adopted but unfortunately it wasn't the perfect match. Beau needs a family that will walk him & exercise him. He would do well in a home with another dog (or cats) and a family comfortable with his excitability and willing to work with him manners. He likes company and might not do well in a situation where he is alone a lot of the time. Found as a stray in 2016, Beau was very frail, heartworm positive and had a bad limp when he walked. X-rays revealed that he'd been shot at some time, which has left thousands of little BB"s enbedded in his entire backside. The BB's can't be removed and while he doesn't seem to be in any pain, Beau still favors his right rear leg at times. Beau was treated for his heartworms using the "Slow Kill" method and recently tested negative for heartworms. He's also at a healthy weight now but is typically a lean built dog.
