Description:
*** Abigail is scheduled to be at our adoption event at Rosedale Mills in Pennington, NJ over the Aug. 12-14 weekend. Contact socorescue@yahoo.com for more details*** Abigail and her brother, Sebastian, were discarded in a yard of a home a young couple. This couple was awaken late one night after their dogs alerted them to something strange going on outside. When the couple investigated, they found two pups, approximately 10 weeks old, huddled together and terrified. Being very compassionate and loving dogs, the couple took the two pups inside and contacted SoCo Rescue the next day. Abigail was very receptive to human contact when she first arrived. While she seemed to know she could trust in some people, at times she would retreat and try to hide behind her brother. But now she seems to be very comfortable around people, is very friendly towards them and picks up on new things rather quickly. She gets along great with other dogs and for a few days managed to climb into the kennel adjacent to hers to visit and play with a much younger litter of pups. While she's only about 4 months, Abigail seemed to exhibit a motherly instinct towards the litter of pups. At approx 14 weeks (as of 8/5), Abigail has received 2/3 of her first year "puppy" vaccines, her rabies and bordetella vaccinations, been de-wormed and received a parasite prevention treatment. She currently weighs about 15 lbs and should grow to be 35lbs. She has that classic Blue Heeler look while her brother resembles a grey/brown Doberman. Her adopter must agree to having her spayed once she reaches the appropriate age (6-7 months) and supplying proof of such to our rescue. If you'd like to offer this pretty little girl a new home, please submit an application at socorescue.com
