Luckily for Ronnie, when he became a homeless dog he ended up going to just the right house. The couple took compassion upon Ronnie, gave him a safe place to stay and even fed and cared for him instead of turning him away. This couple kept Ronnie for a couple of months while we worked to open a spot for him at SoCo Rescue. At Ronnie's former foster home, he got to enjoy playing with the couple's other two dogs: a smaller Lab mix and her puppy. Ronnie was playful with the other dogs, never being too rough and the other dogs seemed to enjoy Ronnie's company. He was also very attentive and friendly towards the couple, their grandchildren and any visitors who happened to stop by. It's easy to determine that Ronnie would make a great addition to just about any home, be that with or without other dogs and/or children. Even though he was housed in an outside kennel, Ronnie rarely deficated inside his abode, waiting until his "free time" before going to potty. At SoCo Rescue, he also has waited for his outdoor time to relieve himself. This is all a great indication that Ronnie has had some house training and should adapt very easily when going to a new home. Since coming to our rescue, Ronnie has been neutered, had all of his yearly vaccinations renewed and even tested negative for heart worms. We've kept Ronnie on a monthly heart worm, flea and tick preventative and even de-wormed him. A microchip will accompany his adoption. If you're looking for a friendly adult dog that should transition into a new home very easily, then Ronnie may be your next dog. Applications for his adoption can be submitted at socorescue@yahoo.com
