Adoption Listings
Southern Comfort Animal Rescue is licensed through the State of Ga. Dept. of Agriculture and is a registered non-profit- 501(c)(3)-organization. "SoCo" is operated solely by volunteers which are devoted to finding good homes for all the animals that come our way. Our mission is to better the lives of the abused, neglected and unwanted animals that seem to be in abundance all across America.
While we try our best to help save as many as we can, SoCo does have a DOA set limit of 50 animals. Finding a home for one of our dogs also opens the door to save another.
While we primarily house and adopt dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes, we occasionally offer cats for adoption.
We are located in rural Ga but adopt dogs to families all over the country. If a good home can be found for one of our dogs, we'll find a way to get the dog to that home. All potential adopters are required to complete an adoption application prior to adopting any of our animal.
While SoCo does not profit from the animals we help, it is necessary to have an adoption fee. SoCo Rescue's adoption fee covers the cost of each dog's basic vet care, which includes spaying/neutering, all vaccines and worming. We have all the animals in our care tested for heart worms and keep them all on a monthly heart worm preventative year round. We are very dependent upon donations to help cover the cost of any additional vet care that a particular animal may need.
COURTESY LISTINGS: SoCo Rescue also assist private pet owners who wish to re-home their pets. There are no adoption fees associated with these "courtesy listing" as we do not support the selling of pets. SoCo can assist with obtaining discounted vet services that a courtesy listing pet may need, including spay/neuter. Adopters will be asked to pay the vet directly for these services. SoCo seeks no money for these animals, we only want to help find homes for those in need.
While we strive to verify that the information provided to us is accurate, SoCo can not be held responsible for the health or disposition of a courtesy listing pet. We advise interested parties always ask for vet records or have the animal thoroughly evaluated by a licensed veterinarian prior to the adoption.
If interested in a particular animal, please contact Scott at socorescue@yahoo.com or call 912-423-0145
